I lost my husband during the war.

Before he sacrificed himself in the battle, he paid me a visit for just one night.

Some days after that night, I was raped by a crippled man who was the only one in the village.

I am not sure if he was crippled naturally or made himself crippled so that he did not have to go to the front lines. I still don’t know the answer to that question.

A few weeks later I found out that I was pregnant.

How could I know which man was my child’s father back then?

That’s how I treated my son. With uncertainty, while giving him all the love and care from my husband’s family. We went on like this for years until he became a young boy and began looking exactly like the crippled man.

Later on, they both found out about their relationship. Not only did they accept their relationship, but they announced their union by making our community view me as a vile woman who has been taking advantage of being a hero’s widow for years. people see me as a bitch that have been taking advantage of being a widow of a hero for years.

The crippled guy is now community leader. He is seen as a role model for the community now.

Luckily for me, my parent in laws all passed away before this, so they didn’t need to witness this tragedy and become victims of it.

Luckily for them, they don’t know that they have no grandson to worship and continue their family “tree.”

I lost everything, including the last night with my beloved husband.

For me, that’s how the war finally ended, with the loss of all that is dear to me.
